Swim England East Region Masters Inter-County Championships 2025
What Happened?
Cambridgeshire attended the Masters Inter-County Competition with an enthusiastic squad of 35 swimmers from St. Ives Swimming Club, St. Neots Swans, Huntingdon Piranhas, March Marlins, Wisbech Swimming Club, City of Ely Swimming Club, Impington Masters and City of Peterborough Swimming Club. The team was well supported poolside by officials Adam Bright and Reiner Bruggraber and John Burling, Head Coach at Huntingdon, whose time and expertise were greatly appreciated.
With excellent commitment from the team, every relay was covered, which was a fantastic achievement in itself at Masters level! Entries for all events apart from two made for a busy competition. Despite tough competition, Cambridgeshire celebrated three individual event wins: Lauren Watt, Helen Davis and Lucy Ryan. A full results breakdown is available here.
Cambridgeshire placed 5th overall (27th Nationally) and the team put in strong performances across the programme. It was a fantastic day of racing featuring some exceptionally fast swimmers, and the team spirit was outstanding!
